The company was founded in 1986 by Mr. Ilias Palavratzis.

His deep knowledge of the automotive spare parts industry gained as head of supplies at ELVO – Hellenic Vehicles Industry S.A., helped him to realize the need for the establishment of a specialized office that would meet the international marketing needs of foreign spare parts manufacturers, acting as their “ambassador” in the Greek market.

From its early days the company enjoyed a remarkable growth, since both the number of foreign firms represented by the company and the number of its customers was increasing steadily.

  • With the help from the founder’s son, John, who joined in 1991, the company expanded rapidly and enjoyed impressive rates of growth during the 90s and early 00s.
  • In 1996 the company relocates to new, private-owned premises, in the center of Thessaloniki.
  • Since 1998 PAL Company has been investing heavily in information technology, keeping up-to-date with the latest developments and modernizing its software and hardware on a continuous basis.
  • Continuous growth, along with the need to follow modern commercial practices, led the founder to transform the firm into a General Partnership company in 2006 (from single man business type), thereby allowing strategic partners, executives and marketing specialists to join.
  • With already 15 years of experience in the industry, John Palavratzis gradually takes full management responsibility while he attends a part-time executive MBA course in 2005, to enhance even more his managerial and entrepreneurial skills.
